COVID-19 Safety Information

After a two-year pandemic, we have collectively let down our guard and lowered our masks while the COVID-19 virus continues to spread. This July will be the busiest travel month in recent years. As we head into this Summer season and travel across the globe increases, the COVID-19 variant has caused a severe spike in infections in our area locally and across the country. In the Whole Life Medicine clinic, we are already seeing the recent rise in infections and have been treating an elevated number of COVID-19 cases. We want you to know that as we navigate this current surge, we are taking all steps to maintain a safe and healthy office environment to provide healthcare to you, your family, our community, and the WLM staff.
THINGS YOU CAN DO TO STAY SAFE DURING THIS CURRENT SURGE:
  1. DO NOT ARRIVE TO THE WLM CLINIC OR PUBLIC AREAS WHILE SICK: Help us keep our work staff in action throughout the duration of this surge by not coming to our clinic with any cold or allergy symptoms. Stay home even if you have only very mild symptoms to prevent the recurrent spread of COVID-19. We are happy to reschedule your in-office appointment to a Telemedicine Video visit to maintain care. We will continue insurance covered telemedicine video visits on Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays from 9 am – 4 pm. These can also be scheduled via the WLM Patient Portal.
  2. GET TESTED: Even if you are vaccinated, it is important during this surge to still get tested even if you have very mild symptoms, as omicron quintuples the risk of having a breakthrough infection. If you need a COVID-19 test, we suggest:
    1.  Evergreen Urgent Care facilities near us who provide this testing in a COVID-19 protected environment
    2. Numerous drive through PCR test sites in King County.
    3. Ordering an overnight delivered PCR test kit to your home from LabCorp OnDemand testing
  3. MASK UP: As a medical and healthcare facility in the state of Washington, Whole Life Medicine strictly complies with the COVID-19 guidelines set forth by Washington state Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Masks are required for the duration of your time in our clinic. PLEASE MASK UP BEFORE YOU ENTER OUR LOBBY. Remember that masks need to fully cover your mouth and nose and remain in place throughout check-in, your exam, and check-out.
Upgrade your mask! Cloth masks do not provide adequate protection against COVID-19. This is the time to upgrade your mask to a KN95, an N95, or start double masking.Protective Face Mask chart
  4. GET VACCINATED AND BOOSTERED: COVID-19 vaccinations are now FDA-Approved for people six months of age and older. Click Here for 6 Things to Know about the vaccination for young children. The initial two series of COVID-19 vaccination no longer qualify as fully vaccinated. Adding a booster shot increases your protection. The single most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your family against COVID-19 is to get vaccinated and get a booster shot. Our staff and providers are all vaccinated and boostered for your protection in the office. You can find a vaccine appointment here. It is important to note that unvaccinated individuals run the highest risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. Please schedule an appointment if you have questions or concerns about the COVID-19 vaccination options.
  5. PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING: Please do not bring any companions or children to your appointment. We will be staggering our physician schedules to allow for appropriate physical distancing.

The Whole Life Medicine staff and I hope you are staying healthy and well through this unusual time! We will get through this endemic together, day by day 🙂
